Chocolate Chip Cookies (smol batch)
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (KAF measure for measure)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup salted butter (ideally softened, but melted is fine)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- Other tasty additions include peanut butter, chopped nuts, and rolled oats
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 375F
- In a small/medium bowl mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In another medium bowl cream together butter and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla until mixture gets lighter in color.
- Mix in the dry ingredients.
- Add the chocolate.
- Make a big ball and refrigerate or freeze briefly. We want the dough chilled but still scoopable.
- Shape spherical dough balls and bake for ~12 minutes (depends on size and desired texture). Gently move them to a rack using a spatula and let them solidfy for a few minutes.
