Chicken Broth
Ingredients
- Whole chicken
- Two carrots, cut into chunks
- Three celery stalks, cut into chunks
- 1 onion, peeled and quartered (leave out for dog broth)
- 3 garlic cloves, smashed (leave out for dog broth)
- 1 bay leaf
- Sprigs of rosemary
Instructions
- Eat the dark meat. Eat the white meat.
- Put everything in a large pot and cover with water.
- Bring to a boil, then imediately reduce heat.
- Cook without boiling for as many hours as possible.
- Strain. You can strain it through a cloth to remove all the little chickeny bits or leave them in. If you refrigerate it you can scrape off the fatty layer and use that separately. Freeze for longer term storage.
